Dr. Silvia Pizzocaro

Silvia Pizzocaro, Ph.D in Industrial design, is Associate Professor of Industrial design at Facolta del Design, Politecnico di Milano. Her main research interests are the nature and methods of design research, theory of design, as well as some pedagogical aspects of doctoral education in design.

In 2000 she co-ordinated and chaired the organising committee for the "Design plus Research" conference held at Politecnico di Milano. She has published into design theory and education, and she regularly reviews for international design conferences.

Her present teaching areas cover introductory courses to design praxis for novice students (at the degree level) and fundamentals of research methods for design (at the master level). Part of her academic research interests are oriented towards current developments in user studies for product design.
